Usually I ask the questions, but this time a friend of mine was keen to know more.

Interview

Back in time: What was your first design in life?

Lego. Through Lego I realized my very first design ideas. Keep it simple and smart. That's what I still say today.

What inspires you?

Nature, new people, art and culture, traveling, looking at details.

What triggers you?

Badly made design by non professionals. Good quality is a question of education.

What is a job that you would definitely not accept?

Offers that contradict my ethical and social standards.

What’s your first question in a project?

What’s your goal?

How do you start working with a client?

First I listen. To listen to the person next to you and reading that person is a really important skill. A good designer should find out what’s the best solution for a client's need. But first, you need to understand what that need is by listening.

Please complete the sentence: It’s finished when…

… the end of a project is always a snapshot of the here and now. We are changing the whole time, so does design.
